The "RB" series are conveyor cylinder brushes coil wound with polypropylene bristles. Brushes are close wound with a dense brush face. The brush is mounted directly to a 16 gauge steel tube with collar ends for easy mounting to your 1" shaft. Collars are made with set screws and keyway and extend 1" on both ends. Cylinder brushes are effective for cleaning conveyor belting and chain, debris removal, material transporting and product positioning.

Brush Core Construction
Precise cylinder brush core constructions provide excellent brush concentricity. The brush core constructions are illustrated below. Core diameters have no limitations. A larger brush will require a stronger core designed for the application. Shafts can be machined to customer specifications; however weight is a factor in the final assembly. Since most coils are welded directly to a tube or shaft, end rings can be machined to make a better cosmetic appearance or leave the weld and channel exposed for a more economical finish.

Coil wound cylinder brushes can be refurbished using the same shaft or tube. Tanis® will remove the worn brush off the existing assembly, then refill the shaft or tube with a new coil wound brush. We can repair journal or stub ends on shafts to provide a new surface for drives and bearings. Dynamic balancing can be provided for a fixed rotation speed or other working conditions in your application.

The Standard Core Systems are:
  1. Solid stainless steel or steel shaft with journal ends machined to your requirements. Recommended shaft sizes between 1/2" to 2". Due to weight of the final assembly, recommend shaft sizes not to exceed 2" diameter.
  2. Stainless steel or steel tubing is used for the core. Journal ends for drive and bearing surfaces are press fit and shrunk inside the tube. The journal ends are either stainless steel or steel.
  3. Stainless steel or steel tube with end collars to accept customer's shaft size. Tube diameter can be made to any size. Collars are made with set screws and /or single or double keyways. Design is recommended for slower speed applications.
